The MCKenzie Method
Ryan is a McKenzie Certified Physical Therapist. But what does that mean? What is the McKenzie Method?
It’s the most researched & reliable physical therapy method available for treatment of the low back. It means you will have the tools to manage your own pain, stiffness and ability. It means you’ll learn to promote your body’s potential to repair itself!
One of the things that makes the McKenzie Method stand apart from other Physical Therapy methods is the first step: assessment. It’s reliable and it’s accurate.
The evaluation never wastes time or money on expensive tests or evaluations, just an accurate diagnosis and a simple treatment plan that works! Research even shows that the McKenzie assessment is as reliable as diagnostic imaging like x-rays or MRIs at determining the source of the problem.
The second step is treatment.
Once the source of the problem is identified, Ryan works with patients to educate them and come up with a treatment plan. His goal is for you to learn how to manage your own symptoms, requiring less medical intervention in the future.
Treatment and exercises that you can perform multiple times daily will be more effective than treatment from a therapist once or twice a week. Ultimately, we want you to have the knowledge and tools you need to treat yourself when you can.
The third and last step is prevention.
Learning how to treat your own body when pain or stiffness arises will minimize the risk of injury. You can quickly address any recurrences as they come up- allowing you to be in control of your own maintenance and treatment.
Of course we’re always here to support you when you need treatment help, we also want you to feel empowered to deal with things as they occur!
